Happy Holidays!

This Saturday, December 14th is the annual Holiday Open House at the Pendleton Art Center. Please stop by and buy local for everyone on your list this season.

Join myself and 70 other artists from 11-3 for an afternoon of fun and art. There will be refreshments, demonstrations and, of course, plenty of art work.  Visit the studios and see what different artists have on display, and be sure to stop on the 5th floor and say hello to me.

Art in Action Comes to Life

As artists, there are many sources of inspiration for our work. That Latin definition for the word “inspire” means to breathe life into. It was not that long ago, when I was inspired by the Cincinnati Arts Ambassador Fellowship program that was instituted by the City of Cincinnati in 2012. Standing beside artist Nancy Hopkins, I said, “What if we as artists thought of ourselves as arts ambassadors for six months?”

Art in Action will offer a variety of free art demonstrations and classes as well the opportunity to view and purchase original artworks from the studios of the participating artists. A wide range of media will be featured including painting, stained glass, and stone carving demonstrations as well as hands-on classes involving ceramics, printmaking and drawing.

They will be demonstrating all afternoon and welcome the public to watch, ask questions, and learn more about their work. Come be inspired by local artists!
